LASRRA empowers low-fee private schools through raffle draw initiative

In a heartwarming occasion borne out of a simple but impactful vision to encourage more residents to register while also extending a helping hand to low-fee private schools, Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) in collaboration with SEED Care & Support Foundation) has gifted lucky pupils oflow-fee private schools through a Raffle Draw Contest. This is aimed at supporting education in underserved communities.
According to a statement By the Director, Public Affairs Unit, LASRRA, Basirat Lawal, while speaking at the maiden edition of the presentation of gifts to lucky winners of low-fee private schools under SEED Care & Support Foundation Umbrella held Friday, 4th April, 2025 at the LASRRA Headquarters, Alausa Ikeja, the General Manager, LASRRA, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi- Abiola said that No Community will be overlooked in this initiative.
Adebiyi-Abiola said that the Raffle draw was introduced as part of LASRRA’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience for pupils in schools that serve disadvantaged communities under the Founder/Executive Director of SEED Care & Support Foundation, Mrs. Olanreawaju Oniyitan.
She also said that this initiative will come up every three (3 Months) so that other schools that are classified under the low-fee private schools will also be captured. Her words: “The Raffle draw, which takes place every quarter will providenumerous advantages to the participating schools. It is also aimed at rewarding the school’s enthusiasm and commitment not forgetting the power of collaboration, motivation and community development”.
One of the key benefits, she stressed further is the constant motivation it creates within schools as far as children registration is concerned. Each quarter’s draw serves as an exciting reminder and commitment to other schools. GM, LASRRA was quick to say that this will be extended to teachers alike. For them, the opportunity to win teaching materials and other resources helps enhance the quality of instruction they also provide, directly benefiting their students’ learning outcomes
Mrs. Olanrewaju Oniyitan in her goodwill message, said that the importance of human compassion in any Non-Governmental Organization cannot be underestimated. She said: “By supporting low-fee private schools, she hopes to create a ripple effect of improved educational outcomes across the State, Lagos State in particular. Thereby, contributing to the THEMES Agenda of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Administration and in essence living No Child, No Parent, No Teacher Behind in Lagos State’s journey towards equitable services”. She also said that the Organization focuses on Collaboration, Identity and Inclusion and in essence, empowering the community is Inclusion in aspect.
Oniyitan stated that the Organization started off with 7 schools in 2024 with 570 individuals registered. It has now registered 63 schools with 3,226 pupils.
“The NGO is committed to bridging gaps in education, promoting fairness, and ensuring that all children, regardless of their socio-economic background, have the opportunity to succeed”, she concluded.
LASRRA remains committed to supporting the residents of Lagos State, particularly in the areas of education and community development. Through initiatives like the quarterly raffle draw, LASRRA ensures that low-fee private schools and their communities receive the recognition and resources they deserve.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts to lucky winners from the five schools that have keyed in the initiative. They include: De-Ample Gate School; Afraz Private school; Adtak-College,Ori-Okuta, Ikorodu; Nasiratul- Azeez Islamic School; Afraz Private school, Ojodu and Glory Access Schools LASRRA’s.
