Lookman vows to fight for Atlético Madrid

Nigerian star Ademola Lookman has officially signed with Atlético Madrid from Atalanta in a €35 million deal, marking a major boost to Diego Simeone’s squad ahead of the 2026 season.

Lookman, 28, unveiled his No. 22 jersey alongside club president Enrique Cerezo at a packed press conference, capping a swift transfer saga.

The forward, who etched his name in history with a hat-trick in Atalanta’s 2024 Europa League final triumph over Bayer Leverkusen, brings sharp finishing honed at Everton, RB Leipzig, and Fulham.

In an X post on Wednesday, Lookman shared his thrill, “Proud and excited to start this new chapter. I’m happy to join Atlético de Madrid a massive club with rich history and passion. New city, new challenges, new energy.
