Makinde gifts Falconets $15,000

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has showered encomiums and financial reward on Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, the Falconets, following their emphatic 4-0 triumph over Rwanda.

The match, which took place at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, was part of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

In appreciation of their outstanding performance, Makinde announced a cash reward of $15,000 to the team.

He commended the Falconets for showcasing resilience, teamwork, and determination, which earned them a resounding victory before an excited home crowd.

The governor noted that his administration remains committed to promoting sports development in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
