Man arrested for killing his friend while fighting mother

In a shocking start to 2025, Daniel Onyejekwe, 30, was arrested in Sapele area Delta State for allegedly murdering Christian Goodluck on Wednesday, January 1.

According to Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, Onyejekwe intervened during a quarrel between Goodluck and his mother, leading to a violent confrontation.

Edafe confirmed on Sunday, that the two men fought with a broken bottle, during which Onyejekwe fatally stabbed Goodluck.

The spokesperson wrote, “In this year 2025, pls control your temper. The suspect Daniel Onyejekwe aged 30yrs in Sapele murdered one Christian Goodluck on 1/1/2025.

“The suspect claimed that he met the suspect quarelling and assaulting his mother. He and the deceased fought with a broken bottle.

“He stabbed the deceased with the broken bottle which later led to the death of the deceased. What a way to start the new year.”
