Man arrested for vandalizing telecom mast in Enugu

Enugu State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old suspect for allegedly vandalising cables at a telecommunications mask in the Naira Triangle area of the Enugu metropolis.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe.

Ndukwe said that the suspect was arrested on Wednesday by police operatives serving in Thinker’s Corner Division of the command, who responded immediately to a distress call.

He said, “His detention led to the recovery of some lengths of vandalised cables, the value of which is yet to be ascertained.”

The PPRO further stated that the tools that the suspects used for the criminal act, including a plier, screwdriver, and others, were recovered from him.

He added that the suspect would be arraigned upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
