Manchester United has successfully appealed Bruno Fernandes’ red card, allowing him to play in the upcoming matches.
This was obtained in a statement on Tuesday on the United website.
The Portuguese midfielder received a controversial straight red during a game against Tottenham on Sunday, September 29, after a tackle on James Maddison.
Following the appeal, the FA confirmed that Fernandes will be available for the next three league games, providing a significant boost to United’s manager Erik ten Hag amid mounting pressure.
“Bruno Fernandes will be available for Manchester United’s next three games following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal,” the club confirmed.
Fernandes expressed relief, insisting the tackle did not warrant a red card and emphasising the need for better decision-making from referees and VAR.
