Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire has ignited fierce discussion among fans after declaring himself one of the world’s top defenders, even at age 33.

In a recent BBC interview, Maguire stated, “I still believe, even at my age, I’m arguably one of the best defenders in the world in both boxes.”

The comment highlights his confidence in aerial duels and set-piece prowess, areas where he’s shone amid United’s resurgent form.

Supporters praise Maguire’s turnaround this season, crediting his improved displays for bolstering Manchester United’s push toward a top-four Premier League finish.

“He’s been a rock—haters gonna hate,” one fan tweeted.

Critics, however, mocked the self-assessment, pointing to past errors and his £80m transfer price tag.

“Best in both boxes? Delusional,” another replied on social media.

United sit third, with Maguire’s leadership and experience key as they chase Champions League spots.
