Meranda elected as first female Speaker of Lagos Assembly

Honourable Mojisola Meranda has become the first elected female Lagos Speaker.

Meranda represents Apapa I in the Lagos Assembly.

She was elected after lawmakers impeached Mudashiru Obasa under whom she served as Deputy.

Recall that members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa over multiple fraudulent allegations.

Sources confirmed that Obasa was removed by the lawmakers during a plenary on Monday.
