Military launches toll-free helpline for security emergencies

In a move to enhance public safety and security, the Nigerian military has introduced a toll-free helpline for Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) to report emergencies and lodge complaints.
Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) headquarters is located in Jos, the Plateau State capital with operational areas covering some parts of Southern Kaduna and Bauchi States.
The initiative according to a statement by the Media Information Officer Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major Samson Zhakom on Tuesday, aims to facilitate the rapid reporting of emergencies and security concerns and to assist the public in providing timely information on the activities of terrorists, insurgents, bandits, and their collaborators, as well as other security concerns.
The introduction of the helpline comes amidst growing security challenges across the country.
However, the military encouraged the general public to utilise the toll-free number to report any security breaches or other matters of concern within the Operation SAFE HAVEN Joint Operations Area. For immediate assistance, please call: 0800 000 20203.
The statement reads, “uThe launch of the toll-free helpline is a significant step towards improving security and responsiveness in the affected states. It demonstrates the military’s commitment to working closely with the public to tackle the security challenges facing the region.
