Multiple car spare parts shops destroyed in Lagos blaze

A fire outbreak was reported at Eshinlokun Street by Idumota Under bridge inwards Carter Bridge axis of Lagos State.
The incident which happened on Friday, November 29, caused chaos and destruction of properties worth millions of naira.
This was made known via a video shared on the X (formally Twitter) handle of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.
The caption reads, “A fire outbreak at Eshinlokun Street by Idumota U/bridge in Carter Bridge.
“Firefighters are already on the ground while access to the road has been blocked for action.
“Our Officers are also on the ground doing the needful.”
Also in a statement, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), multiple buildings used as shops for sales of car spare parts were reportedly ablaze at the aforementioned location.
The statement reads: “Following distress calls via the 767/112 Toll-Free Emergency Lines at 2220hrs, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, activated it’s Emergency Response Teams from Lekki, Cappa and the Command and Control Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.
“On arrival of the LASEMA Response Teams at the incident scene by 2255hrs, it was discovered that multiple buildings used as shops for sales of car spare parts were found engulfed by fire at the aforementioned location.
“The immediate or remote causes of the fire incident were yet to be ascertained as at the time of writing this report.”
