The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has executed a precise and coordinated air interdiction mission that shattered a key terrorist stronghold at the Sauri bandit camp in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State on Friday, 14 November 2025.
A statement on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, noted that following “comprehensive intelligence and surveillance operations,” the NAF Air Component targeted a “high-ground hideout used by the criminals as both a defensive position and a logistics hub,” delivering multiple direct strike hits.
The mission “neutralised numerous terrorists” and destroyed critical infrastructure, effectively dislodging insurgents attempting to escape and allowing security forces to eliminate those fleeing into surrounding vegetation.
This significant operation “degraded the criminals’ operational capability in the area,” further tightening security in a region long plagued by banditry.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reiterated the force’s commitment, pledging that the NAF will “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”
The success of this mission highlights the dedication of the Joint Task Force under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to deny terrorists safe havens and restore peace across the North West.
NAF affirmed that this breakthrough strengthens the wider national efforts to achieve lasting stability in Zamfara State and beyond.
