The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has welcomed 275 newly commissioned officers from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) into service.

NAF in a statement shared on its official X handle, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, described their commissioning as “not only the completion of rigorous training but also the beginning of a noble journey of service to the nation.”

The statement continues, “As they join the ranks as commissioned officers, these young men and women embody the core values of the Service — Willing, Able, Ready — to defend our nation’s sovereignty with honour and distinction.

“As they don the Air Force blue, they step into a formidable team committed to projecting airpower in fulfilment of our constitutional mandate. In particular, their dedication is crucial in the ongoing asymmetric warfare, where the NAF continues to safeguard the lives and property of citizens while deploying smarter, more precise, and effective firepower against insurgents.

“Their arrival strengthens the Service’s resolve to stay ahead of evolving threats through innovation, professionalism, and teamwork.

“Guided by the transformative and visionary command philosophy of the Chief of the Air Staff, these officers are equipped to uphold the ideals of excellence, integrity, and selfless service. Together, they represent the future of an Air Force that is not only combat-ready but also people-focused, leveraging cutting-edge strategies to ensure peace and security for our nation. We celebrate their commissioning with pride and confidence in their ability to soar to greater heights in the service of Nigeria.”
