The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has issued a stern warning against the sale of unregistered miracle water and soap while conducting an investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
In a statement on Sunday, NAFDAC Director-General Professor Mojisola Adeyeye alerted the public to the activities of Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, a faith-based organisation in Delta State led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, which has been using NAFDAC’s name to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
The agency revealed that it has been inundated with petitions from concerned citizens about the ministry’s “Miracle Water and Miracle Soap” being advertised with healing and miracle claims and sold to unsuspecting members of the public, noting that the minister showcased the use of these products on social media, claiming that women would carry twins if they used the soap and that they are NAFDAC registered.
NAFDAC in the statement clarified that none of the products being advertised and sold by the ministry are registered with the agency and advised the public to stop patronising any of these miracle products.
The statement establishes, “The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control
(NAFDAC) informs the public about the illegal production and sale of unregistered “miracle” water and soap by Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, Delta State. These products falsely claimed to be NAFDAC-approved, are being advertised with unverifiable healing properties, including promises to cure barrenness. NAFDAC has received numerous petitions and launched an investigation into these deceptive activities.”
The agency has sealed Globod Table Water’s factory for aiding in the production and sale of unregistered and unwholesome products, as the ministry claimed to have entered into a production contract with them without NAFDAC’s knowledge, which is a violation of regulations
“Despite attempts to engage with the ministry, the organisation has refused to cooperate with NAFDAC’s investigation. The products, including ‘Miracle Water” and “River Jordan Water,’ are not registered with NAFDAC, and their production violates regulatory guidelines. NAFDAC has sealed the factory linked to the production and continues its investigation,” the statement confirms.
However, NAFDAC assured Nigerians of its determination to continue safeguarding the public health.
“NAFDAC advises the public to stop purchasing these unregistered products and warns faith organisations against illegal production and sale of unregulated items. The Agency remains committed to ensuring public health safety and will continue to take action against non-compliant entities,” the statement added.
