Napoli blocked my move to Juventus, Osimhen reveals

Galatasaray’s star striker, Victor Osimhen has dropped bombshells in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, admitting Juventus came calling last summer but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis slammed the door shut on a deal to a Serie A rival.

“I could have joined Juventus, yes. Juve wanted to sign me but Napoli president De Laurentiis didn’t want to sell me to Juventus,” Osimhen revealed, underscoring the fierce loyalty battles at play in Italian football.

The Nigerian forward didn’t shy away from praising the Bianconeri’s allure, “For sure, Juventus are a top club. When Juventus call you, you listen.”

Yet Osimhen’s heart now beats firmly for Istanbul.

“I am at a club and city I absolutely love,” he noted, crediting his move to Galatasaray as a stroke of fortune.

“I’ve been lucky to find Galatasaray on my way. There’s nothing similar to Gala, the love from the fans.”

With the Turkish Süper Lig campaign in full swing, Osimhen is eyeing continental glory.

“We did great in Turkey, now it’s time to show our quality in Europe,” he added.

Osimhen’s form has been electric since joining Galatasaray, fueling hopes of a deep Europa League run.
