Napoli, Chelsea discuss Osimhen, Lukaku swap

The Serie A football club, Napoli is in talks with Chelsea over a possible swap deal of the Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen and Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku.
After the Paris Saint-Germain deal with Osimhen stalled because of the transfer fees Napoli is open to including Osimhen in negotiations for Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at Roma football club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s reaction shows that it is eager to off-load Lukaku this summer and has made him available for transfer.
According to a report Dailyeconomy obtained from Seria A, the proposed transfer of Lukaku to Napoli would see the Belgian striker make a permanent switch to the Italian club. In contrast, the potential deal for Osimhen to move to Chelsea is structured as a loan with an option to buy, with the two clubs currently negotiating to reach an agreement that will see both players take on a new challenge in the 2024-2025 season.
Meanwhile, Osimhen was excluded from Napoli’s last pre-season friendly match against Egnatia by Napoli manager Antonio Conte, who emphasised that Osimhen’s future at the club is uncertain.
Nevertheless, this would be a favourable sign for Chelsea as they now seem to be the frontrunners to secure the Nigerian striker ahead of PSG.
