NASFAT calls for unity, hardwork on Islamic New Year

As the Islamic community marks the beginning of the new year 1447AH, the President of NASFAT, Dr Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, has urged Nigerians and Muslims worldwide to embrace the spirit of the Hijra — a symbol of migration from hardship to hope.
AbdulRauf a heartfelt press release shared with our Correspondent on Thursday, said, “On this day, I urge every Nigerian to migrate from social vices and cultivate habits that promote national cohesion and unity.”
He emphasised the timeless lessons of the Hijra noting, “hard work, determination, perseverance, and love,” qualities vital for overcoming the current challenges facing the nation.
Reflecting on the significance of the Hijra, the NASFAT President said, “As we celebrate the new Islamic Year, 1447 AH, let us reflect on the importance and historical significance of the Hijra and the overall wellbeing of humanity with the current state of insecurity in the country.”
Dr. AbdulRauf extended warm wishes to the Muslim Ummah, “I wish the Muslim Ummah a happy Hijrah on this beginning of a new year in the Islamic calendar and pray it will usher in peace and prosperity.”
He also encouraged Nigerians to be exemplary ambassadors globally.
“Let’s be good ambassadors of our country wherever we go across the globe,” he added.
In closing, NASFAT pledged to offer prayers for the wellbeing of citizens and residents of all nations, reiterating its call for unity, peace, and progress.
“We hope for a successful and prosperous new Hijra year, 1447 AH,” AbdulRauf concluded.
