As Ramadan begins, NASFAT President Abdul Wahid Abdulrauf has extended greetings to Muslims worldwide, emphasising the month’s themes of self-reflection, spiritual growth, and compassion.
Abdulrauf in a statement shared with our correspondent on Saturday, highlighted NASFAT’s commitment to promoting peace and justice, while urging support for global causes, including feeding the displaced and empowering communities through initiatives like the “Feed a Mouth” program and women’s skill development training.
He noted that NASFAT has fed over three million people during Ramadan and continues to advocate for religious freedoms and social transformation.
He wrote partly, “As we embrace Ramadan, NASFAT reaffirms its unyielding support for the rights and religious freedoms of all Nigerians. We stand against any force of division or oppression, committed to promoting peace, justice, and equality for all.
“However, while we observe this month in peace, we must not forget the millions of displaced and suffering people worldwide—our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Syria, Pakistan, Ukraine, and those affected by conflicts in Northern Nigeria. Many will not have the comfort of home or the joy of Eid celebrations with their children. This holy season reminds us of our shared duty to uphold the dignity of every human being and extend our hands in charity and support.”
He thereby urged everyone to join NASFAT in supporting projects that change lives like “Feed a Mouth Initiative, NASFAT Islamic Centre & Mosque Development, Widows & Orphans Empowerment, Women’s Skill Development Training, NASFAT Activate for Youth, Guidance & Counseling Unit, Interfaith Arbitration & Conflict Resolution Centre.
“This Ramadan, let us pray, give, and uplift one another. To support our mission, visit www.nasfat.org or email Secretariat@nasfat.org.”
