As Muslims worldwide mark Eid-al-Fitr, NASFAT President Ayodeji Abdulwahid AbdulRauf has extended warm greetings while calling for sustained Ramadan values, interfaith solidarity, and caution against escalating global conflicts.
In his statement shared with Dailyeconomy, AbdulRauf highlighted Ramadan’s spiritual essence, noting, “This last month has been a time of fasting, reflection, spiritual renewal, and service to the less fortunate.
“While Eid marks the completion of Ramadan, it also celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity.”
He praised Muslim contributions globally, stating, “In all NASFAT locations across the world, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim citizens and residents living in the various countries of the world, building the very fabric of every nation and strengthening the core of their democracies or governments.”
AbdulRauf encouraged observing the six days of Shawwal fasting post-Ramadan and issued a strong appeal on international tensions, “We appeal to all Muslims across the world not to view the ongoing USA-ISRAEL and IRAN crisis as a religion one! It’s purely a power supremacy struggle.
“The religious extremists and young Muslims should not use the avenue to call for any religion conflicts in any communities around the world.”
He also urged leaders to extend Ramadan’s spirit into governance, saying, “We appeal to all leaders at various levels to keep the spirit of Ramadan on, and let the grassroots feel the impacts of their governance. Do lets the citizens and residents be impacted through monumental developments and not unsustainable poverty alleviation programs.”
The message concluded with festive wishes, “On behalf of the NASFAT BOT, NCOE, NEC, NWC, NYC, and global members, we wish Muslims in Nigeria and around the world a blessed and joyous celebration! Eid Mubarak.”
