The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has announced notable improvements in Nigeria’s security during October, crediting enhanced intelligence coordination and citizen involvement at the November National Joint Security Briefing.

The briefing highlighted a 33% rise in intelligence activities and quicker responses in Kogi and Zamfara States.

Key recoveries of high-value caches in the North-West and South-East contributed to a 12% drop in violent crime fatalities.

Anti-corruption efforts showed progress, with the ICPC filing new cases, securing convictions, and recovering N840 million and $919,000.

The EFCC reclaimed N46 billion and 125 properties in 2025, reinvesting over N100 billion into education and consumer support schemes.

Issa-Onilu praised the Nigeria Immigration Service, NDLEA, FRSC, NAFDAC, and others for their contributions.

The Nigeria Police Force introduced suggestion boxes at divisional offices to encourage public reporting, enhancing grassroots collaboration.

Representatives across key security and government agencies attended, reinforcing a united front for sustained peace and accountability nationwide.
