The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has addressed a viral video circulating on social media, which appears to show a Nigerian passenger, Gloria Omisore, being mistreated by Kenya Airways.

The viral video shared by a special assistant, media and communications to the minister of aviation, Tunde Moshood, has brought attention to an alarming incident involving a Nigerian passenger.

The video indicates that Omisore, who was travelling from Manchester to Lagos with connecting flights in Paris, Nairobi, and finally Lagos, was denied boarding in Nairobi despite being on a single ticket.

Reacting to the incident, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Michael Achimugu, firmly condemned the unprofessional conduct of Kenya Airways staff.

He emphasised that the airline must face responsibilityfor the unfortunate situation.

Under the NCAA’s consumer protection regulations, specifically Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023, Achimugu disclosed that the authority has summoned Kenya Airways to its Abuja headquarters today, Monday, for a formal hearing.

Achimugu also issued a stern warning to the airline, stating that if Omisore is not swiftly airlifted to her final destination, Kenya Airways will face serious consequences.
