The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has strongly condemned the physical altercation that took place on a recent United Nigeria Airlines flight involving social media personalities Martins “VeryDarkMan” Otse and comedian Freedom “Mr Jollof” Atsepoyi.
The incident has raised serious concerns about passenger safety onboard commercial flights.
In an official statement, the NCAA described the confrontation as a “serious breach of aviation safety,” underscoring that it “endangered passengers, crew members, and the aircraft.”
The Authority’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection confirmed that the NCAA will now take “appropriate action” following the submission of a formal incident report by United Nigeria Airlines.
United Nigeria Airlines detailed that its cabin crew responded swiftly to “de-escalate the situation.” Both individuals were removed from the aircraft and handed over to airport security, adhering fully to established aviation safety protocols.
The NCAA concluded by reiterating its firm stance, stressing its “zero tolerance for unruly conduct aboard flights” and urging all passengers to “comply fully with safety regulations to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.”
