The President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Prince Babatunde Oguntade, has said the brokers are committed to creating a good image for insurance.

He spoke at the June 2024 edition of the NCRIB Members’ Evening event in Lagos, hosted by Tangerine.

He said, “Corporate reputation is the overall estimation in which an organization is held by its internal and external stakeholders based on its past actions and probability of its future behavior. A favourable reputation requires more than just an effective communication effort; it requires an admirable identity that can be molded through consistent performance, usually over many years.

“Over the years, the image of our industry was blighted by uncomplimentary messages from people who only heard about insurance from distance relatives or pieces of information from unsatisfied customers. The industry continued to suffer poor patronage. But we have resolved never to allow such continue unabated. It is in this light the Council is coming up with NCRIB Lagos market visitation and insurance awareness campaign.”

He also said it would be another intriguing moment in the annals of the NCRIB as the Council has concluded arrangement to host all Insurance Brokers Directors’ Conference at Raddison Blu, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

The company’s directors, he said, were expected to massively attend this conference, it promises to be educative and informative with the theme, ‘Running an effective board.

Oguntade said, “An array of professional speakers drawn from across the financial services sector had confirmed their readiness to share their personal experiences and practically inform delegates on the rudiment of growing formidable and sustainable institutions. It is a conference that no director of Companies would wish to miss.”
