NDLEA intercepts cannabis-laced candies destined for Kiddies’ store

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have intercepted a shipment of children candies, containing a strong strain of cannabis intended for sale in a kiddies store in Lagos.
The agency’s Public Relations Officer, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, disclosed that the importer disguised the illegal product as regular sweets.
The statement reads, “Narco-trends: One of the latest seizures of #ndlea_nigeria officers is candies confirmed to contain strong strain of cannabis.
“The importer shipped them in for sale in his kiddies shop in Lagos where he sells children items, making it look like targeting of school kids.“
Babafemi thereby urged parents to be mindful of the snacks their children take to school and bring home.
“Parents let’s stay woke on sweets and snacks our kids take to school or bring home,” he added.
