NEMA accepts 111 repatriated Nigerians from Niger Republic

The National Emergency Management Agency, Kano Office, in collaboration with key partners, has received 111 Nigerian nationals repatriated from Niamey, Niger Republic.

According to a remark by NEMA, the repatriation exercise was coordinated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with relevant agencies focused on migrant support and reintegration.

The statement reads, “As part of the ongoing efforts to support voluntary returnees, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Office, in collaboration with other critical stakeholders, received 111 Nigerian nationals repatriated from Niamey, Niger Republic. The returnees arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) at 7:20 p.m. on May 26, 2025.

“The repatriation exercise was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with key agencies involved in migrant support and reintegration.

“Demographic Breakdown of Returnees: Adult Males: 87, Male Children: 8, Adult Females: 8, Female Children: 8.

“Upon arrival, the returnees were transported to Chilla Hotel, where they underwent profiling and documentation on May 27, 2025.”
