NEMA confirms several students dead in Plateau building collapse

The National Emergency Management Agency has verified that the collapse of a building in Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Friday resulted in the death of several students from Saint Academy, a school housed in the two-storey building.

NEMA, in a post on its X (formally Twitter) handle on Friday stated that search and rescue operations are currently ongoing in the building.

The agency wrote, “A 2-storey building housing Saint Academy (School) in Busa Buji in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State collapsed this morning killing several students.

“NEMA and other critical stakeholders are presently carrying out Search and Rescue operations.”
