The Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), Dr Umaru Kwairanga, has commended UAC of Nigeria Plc for its resilience, innovation, and enduring contribution to Nigeria’s corporate landscape during Thursday’s Closing Gong Ceremony and “Facts Behind the Figures” presentation.

Welcoming the UAC board and management to the floor of the Exchange, Kwairanga described the company as one of Nigeria’s oldest surviving corporate organisations, noting its ability to anticipate opportunities, maintain a strong presence in key economic sectors, and thrive in a competitive business environment for over 200 years.

“UAC’s track record of remaining relevant and strong in a fast-evolving and competitive environment is a testament to the quality of its management,” Kwairanga said. He highlighted the company’s strategy of combining experienced leadership with the zeal and innovative spirit of young managers recruited through its acclaimed training programmes.

The NGX Chairman cited UAC’s household brands such as MDS, Gala, Swan Water, and Mr Biggs as evidence of the successful integration of resilience, experience, and innovation in the company’s operations.

Kwairanga also emphasized the importance of the presentation, which allowed UAC to brief the capital market on the next chapter of its evolving story. He expressed confidence that brokers and stakeholders would provide insightful questions and advice to the company’s management.

Concluding his remarks, Kwairanga reiterated NGX’s pleasure in hosting UAC, underscoring the Exchange’s commitment to promoting transparency, investor engagement, and sustainable growth in Nigeria’s capital market.
