Niger gov mourns victims of petrol tanker explosion

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago has expressed sorrow over the tragic petrol tanker explosion that occurred in Agaie Local Government Area of the State that resulted in the loss of lives and properties.
The petrol tanker explosion, which was said to have occurred about 2 km away from Dendo Community in Agaie, headquarters of Agaie LGA of Niger State claimed the lives of people, burnt cattle and destroyed vehicles.
Reacting to the incident, Bago in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim on Sunday said he is pained by the unfortunate incident and the colossal loss incurred.
The statement reads, “Niger State Gov, Farmer Mohd Umaru Bago expresses sadness over the petrol tanker explosion that occurred in Agaie LGA, resulting in loss of lives and property.”
While commiserating with all those who suffered losses in the incident, Bago says “State Govt through the Niger State Emergency Mgt Agency (NSEMA) and other relevant organisations have been mobilised to the scene of the accident for rescue operation and other necessary actions.”
He called for calm from the residents of the affected area and also encouraged road users to always be cautious and abide by road traffic regulations to safeguard lives and property.
“I pray Allah will repose the souls of the departed and grant quick recovery to those injured,” he said.
