Niger tanker explosion: Minister visits Emir of Suleja

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has visited the palace of the Emir of Suleja to sympathise with the people of Niger State following a petrol Tanker accident that claimed over 70 lives in the Dikko area in the State.
Idris’s visit was disclosed via images shared on the X (formally Twitter) handle of the Nigeria Television Authority, on Sunday.
Dailyeconomy had earlier reported that National Emergency Management Agency has confirmed that over 70 died and over 56 injured in the tanker explosion in Niger State last Saturday.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday along Dikko-Maje Road opposite Baddegi Station.
The agency stated that most of the victims were burnt beyond recognition, adding that the injured have been taken to hospitals.
NEMA noted that the explosion occurred after a tanker loaded with PMS crashed and an attempt was made to transfer its contents to another.
