The Federal Governments of Nigeria and Australia are set to strengthen their relationships in a significant move to bolster the mining sector.

This was revealed during a courtesy visit of the Australian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Leilani Bin-Juda to the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake on Friday.

Bin-Juda while formally inviting Alake to attend the prestigious African Down Under conference, scheduled to take place in Perth, Australia, from September 4 to 6, 2024 used the chance to brief Alake on the upcoming conference and the tremendous opportunities the bilateral meetings during the event will bring to Nigeria.

Alake and Bin-Juda according to a statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Segun Tomori discussed potential opportunities for Nigerian professionals to benefit from short courses in Mining, hosted by Australian institutions, stating that the courses aim to improve the skills and knowledge of Nigerian experts to promote the development of Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.
