The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, received the Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mining Development, Antonio Oburu Ondo, alongside Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, in Abuja on Tuesday.
A statement obtained from NNPCL on Thursday revealed that the parties signed a joint communiqué to advance the implementation roadmap for the Gulf of Guinea Gas Pipeline (GOGGP) Project, a landmark bilateral energy initiative.
The project aims to transport Nigerian gas to Equatorial Guinea’s LNG processing facilities at Punta Europa, boosting energy security and economic growth in West Africa.
The statement says, “On Tuesday at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., received H.E. Ekperikpe Ekpo.

This pipeline project follows the 2024 signing of the treaty by Presidents Bola Tinubu and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and is expected to enhance regional cooperation, industrial growth, and energy infrastructure.
The roadmap includes finalizing international agreements, ratification, and institutional setup with participation from both countries and the project developer Gas Invest Limited/Amitee Global.
The meeting at NNPC Towers also marks a new phase under Engr. Ojulari’s leadership, who took over as NNPC CEO in April 2025, bringing over 30 years of industry experience to Nigeria’s energy sector.
