In a significant move to bolster economic cooperation, the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, met with the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot, in Abuja.
This was made known in a statement shared on Thursday by the Ministry of Finance.
According to the statement ambassador Mignot emphasised the EU’s role as Nigeria’s largest trading partner and a major source of foreign direct investment, proposing a structured trade and investment dialogue to enhance collaboration in infrastructure, green finance, and sustainable development.
However, Edun welcomed the initiative, highlighting Nigeria’s commitment to macroeconomic stability and investor-friendly reforms.
He noted, “The discussions also highlighted strategic projects such as the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline and the National Single Window trade system, further aligning with Nigeria’s fiscal consolidation and infrastructure modernisation agenda.”
