Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, recently met with senior officials from the IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Germany to discuss plans for facilitating dual vocational training opportunities for Nigerians.
The initiative according to the statement shared by the Minister via his social media handle aims to empower Nigerian youth, offering them the chance to build skills and gain experience working with German companies abroad.
The collaboration between both countries is expected to enhance skills among Nigerian youths, and also strengthen ties between Nigeria and Germany.
He wrote, “Today, I held a meeting with top management of IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Germany, discussing plans to facilitate a dual vocation training for Nigerians, especially youths seeking to build capacity in German companies outside the shores of Nigeria.
“Led by the Former Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and the Chamber’s President, Dr Matthias Leder; the team sought our government’s collaboration in areas of migration management, which is key to our national security architecture —especially in addressing irregular migration.
“The dual vocation training initiative is a welcomed idea as this collaboration is not just for the present but for the future, with potentials holding true for sustainable growth and national prosperity. Also, while the collaboration is expected to enhance skills among our youth, it will also strengthen ties between Nigeria and Germany.”
