Nigeria has renewed its dedication to advancing youth-driven agricultural innovation and food security under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.
Speaking at the World Food Forum in Rome, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari emphasised the vital role of empowering young Nigerians in driving agricultural transformation, job creation, and national development.
Kyari outlined key government initiatives, including the National Agricultural Development Fund, the N1.5 trillion recapitalisation of the Bank of Agriculture, and the 2,000-tractor mechanisation programme. These measures are designed to boost productivity, enhance mechanisation, and expand access to finance for young farmers.
Highlighting the administration’s vision, Kyari said, “The President Tinubu administration is building a food-secure, innovation-driven, and youth-powered agricultural sector capable of meeting Nigeria’s growing food demand.”
He added that through technology integration, mechanisation, targeted financial support, and global collaboration, Nigeria is strengthening its agricultural value chain in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on food security, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.
