The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, highlighted the significance of global partnerships in advancing Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda for sustainable development.

At a special side event during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Umar participated in a panel discussion titled “Global Partnerships, Local Prosperity: Unlocking Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Blueprint for Sustainable Growth,” alongside other senior government officials.

She emphasised that creating new alliances and enhancing current bilateral and multilateral relationships are vital to the objectives set by President Bola Tinubu.

“At NEMA, our mission is centred on humanitarian needs and emergency management. We are seeking strategic partnerships that aren’t solely focused on the donation of aid or handouts, but also guarantee empowerment, sustainability, and resilience,” she stated.
