Nigeria, US to enhance economic, security collaboration

Christopher Landau, the United States Deputy Secretary of State, held a meeting with Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar to discuss enhancing economic and security collaboration between their nations.

This dialogue underscores both countries’ ongoing dedication to strengthening bilateral relations and tackling regional issues.

In their conversation, the two leaders reviewed common priorities, focusing on security cooperation and economic development in Africa.

Landau emphasised Nigeria’s importance, stating, “Nigeria is on track to become the world’s third largest country by population within a generation, and is an anchor of United States foreign policy in Africa.”
