The Presidency announced on Thursday that Nigeria is intensifying its collaboration with China as both countries work towards implementing China’s zero-tariff policy.

In discussions involving senior officials and the Nigeria Customs Service Comptroller-General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the Federal Government of Nigeria expressed its commitment to fast-track this policy.

The Presidency stated, “The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to fast-track China’s zero-tariff policy, aiming to deepen the strategic partnership and unlock new economic opportunities.”

This policy is projected to “boost trade, reduce import costs, and strengthen bilateral cooperation,” while finalising mechanisms to support international trade growth and creating a more favorable climate for businesses and investors.
