Nigerian insurers assure aviation sector of adequate risk coverage

Operators in Nigeria’s insurance industry have assured aviation sector operators that they have the capacity to insure risks in the sector.
This was part of the discussions at the Insurers Committee meeting which took place in Lagos today, Wednesday, at the Nigerian Insurers Association building.
Addressing the journalists at a press conference after the meeting, Head, Communication & Stakeholders Management Sub-committee and Managing Director Rex Insurance Limited Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, said, “The commission and the industry is engaging aviation providers, to assure of the capacity of Nigeria’s insurance industry to provide for aviation risk.”
Dailyeconomy recently reported that the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) established a joint technical committee to strengthen aviation insurance.
The operators assured that all genuine claims emanating from the compulsory Third Party Motor insurance will be settled promptly. They also spoke on efforts to clampdown on fake motor insurance vendors.
