Nigerians have contributed over N11 million to support a family with a quadruplet, demonstrating compassion and generosity.

A post shared on X (formally Twitter) by a netizen identified as Jamysax, on Tuesday noted that Sodiq Olayode wanted one more child after having two, and is now a father of six after his wife, Abiodun Olayode, gave birth to a quadruplet.

The netizen wrote, “A colleague of mine who had two kids already said he should do and add one more.

“Guess how many his wife gave birth to ? 4 at once (quadruplet). The man wan craze. Na so so lament for status every day.”

However, after Jamysax posted a WhatsApp status of Sodiq where he lamented about buying 105 pieces of diapers in just six days the family received an outpouring of support from the Nigerian with many individuals contributing funds to help cover the costs of caring for the quadruplets.

The donations, which included cash and essential items, have been a significant help to the family during this joyous, yet challenging time. The generosity of Nigerians has been praised, showcasing the existence of solidarity.

Confirming the amount that had been raised for them on Wednesday after 7 hours of posting their account, Jamysax wrote, “ As of 17:06 they have received N11,097,104.”
