NIMC opens entries for logo design competition

In commemoration of the 6th National Day of Identity, titled ‘Digital Public Infrastructure: Enabling Access to Services’, the National Identity Management Commission has called on interested students from Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Tertiary institutions across the Federation to participate in a graphic art design competition by designing a NIMC Logo and explaining the concept behind the design.
The concept note according to a memo on Monday signed by the Head of Corporate Communications of the Agency, Kayode Adegoke, should not exceed 200 words, and should contain, the participant’s national identification number, the name of the school/institution and class/level, the design approach/steps, the inspiration behind the Concept, the advantage over the existing logo, graphics style, typography and Colours.
The competition includes all age grades in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions with winners selected from each category required to send designs attached with the concept notes to be sent in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format via email to idday2024@nimc.gov.ng with “Logo Design” as the subject of the email.
The memo stated that, “NIMC staff and family members are excluded from participating in this competition, Joint design is allowed.
“This competition is aimed at celebrating and appreciating individuals’ identity and creativity, therefore, NIMC will verify all submissions to ensure their originality (I.e. Winners may be asked to redesign their submitted concepts). The winners from each category will be invited to the 2024 ID Day in Abuja for the presentation of the award by the Director-General of the Commission on Monday 16th September, 2024.
“However, the deadline for all submissions is 4:00 pm Friday, August 16, 2024. Late submission will not be accepted and this application is completely free of charge.”
