The Nigeria Immigration Service has warned the public against the increasing number of fake recruitment advertisements.

In a statement by the Service Public Relations Officer, AS Akinlabi, the Service clarified that no recruitment exercise is ongoing, advising members of the public to disregard any claims to the contrary.

The Service emphasised the NIS conducts its recruitment exercises in a transparent, free, and merit-based manner.

It reads, “The attention of the Comptroller General Nigeria Immigration Service, KN NANDAP, pcc, mmis, fsmn, has been drawn to the alarming number of fake recruitment advertisements circulating on fraudulent websites particularly (niscareer.com.ng). The Service categorically states that THERE IS NO RECRUITMENT EXERCISE CURRENTLY ONGOING and urges the public to disregard and continue to report such false claims.

“The Nigeria Immigration Service maintains that all recruitment exercises are conducted in a transparent, free and merit-based manner. Vacancies are advertised through the NIS website (immigration.gov.ng), official government channels (cdcfib.gov.ng) and recognized national newspapers.

“The NIS is working closely with relevant authorities to apprehend those involved in these fraudulent activities and bring them to justice. The Service remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in all its operations.

“Consequently, the Comptroller General strongly advises the general public not to patronize any malicious websites or unauthorised platforms falsely advertising recruitment into the Service. Anyone who receives unsolicited messages or is approached by individuals claiming to represent the NIS on recruitment matters should report to the Nigeria Immigration Service
