The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) announced on Monday the convening of the H2 2025 Nigerian Gas Network Reconciliation Workshop.

The event aims to verify domestic gas volumes transported across the network from July to December 2025.

According to the statement obtained on Monday, “The Authority is convening the H2 2025 Nigerian Gas Network Reconciliation Workshop to undertake a detailed reconciliation and verification of domestic gas volumes transported across the Nigerian Gas Network for the period July–December 2025, in accordance with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and the Nigerian Gas Transportation Network Code.”

The workshop unites gas suppliers, transporters, and off-takers to align custody transfer and fiscal metering data with approved standards.

It will also tackle key issues, as the statement notes, “During deliberations, decisions will also be made on how to reconcile nominated, allocated, and attributed gas volumes, and address network imbalances arising from measurement variances and operational losses.”

This initiative underscores NMDPRA’s push for accurate metering and reduced operational discrepancies in Nigeria’s gas sector, vital for energy security and fiscal accountability.
