NNPC declares maintenance shutdown for Port Harcourt refinery

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown for the Port Harcourt Refining Company, starting today, May 24, 2025.
This planned maintenance and sustainability assessment according to a statement on Saturday by the NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure long-term energy security.
Soneye underscored the company’s commitment noting, “We are working closely with all relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), to ensure that the maintenance and assessment activities are carried out efficiently and transparently.
“NNPC Ltd. remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering sustainable energy security for Nigeria.”
NNPC assured the public that updates on the progress of the maintenance will be regularly communicated through official channels, including the company’s website and media platforms.
“Further updates will be provided regularly through our official channels, including our website, media platforms, and public statements,” the statement added.
