The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has revealed the existence of a coordinated sabotage campaign orchestrated by a syndicate of known and faceless actors, both external and internal, aimed at undermining the organisation’s transformation efforts.

In a statement released on Friday, NNPCL condemned the spreading of falsehoods and misinformation designed to discredit its leadership and stall the company’s ongoing reform agenda.

This transformation according to the remark is aligned with the mandate of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to build a corruption-free, performance-driven energy company.

“These are calculated efforts by those who feel threatened by reform, transparency, accountability, and change-clear evidence of the lengths to which they will go to obstruct the transformation of Nigeria’s foremost energy institution,” the statement read.

NNPC Ltd. highlighted that the saboteurs have resorted to planting scandalous and fabricated reports aimed at distracting leadership, misleading the public, and undermining the morale of dedicated staff and reform-minded Nigerians.

The company warned of an expected surge in defamatory content in the coming days but reassured stakeholders that the transformation process will continue unabated.

“We expect a surge of defamatory content in the days and weeks ahead. NNPC Ltd. remains undeterred. The transformation is underway, and no amount of sabotage will stop it,” the statement affirmed.

NNPC Ltd. called on its staff, stakeholders, and patriotic Nigerians to remain focused and ignore the noise, underscoring, “We remain on mission.”
