NNPC unveils plans for clean energy expansion

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) announced that its Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, paid a visit to the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) Plant in Bonny.
According to a statement obtained from NNPC on Friday, during the visit, Ojulari commended NLNG for its “significant contributions to Nigeria’s energy transition, economic stability, and industrial advancement.”
He reaffirmed NNPC Ltd.’s dedication to NLNG’s future, highlighting plans to enhance Nigeria’s gas infrastructure and seize new opportunities in clean energy.
“He unveiled plans to strengthen gas infrastructure and expand into emerging opportunities in clean energy innovation which will be instrumental in preparing Nigeria’s energy sector for a competitive, low-carbon, and net-zero future,” the statement revealed.
Ojulari emphasised the strategic importance of the ongoing Train 7 project, describing it as “a key catalyst for boosting Nigeria’s export capacity, creating thousands of jobs and strengthening national resilience in the global energy market.”
Acknowledging NLNG’s achievements, he stated that “NLNG’s strong governance framework, commitment to sustainability, and exemplary asset integrity were commended as hallmarks of operational excellence and a continuing source of national pride.”
