The Management and staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited have welcomed the appointment of a new Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari, and Board of Directors for the Company.

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ojulari as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the NNPC Limited, replacing Mele Kyari, Dailyeconomy reported.

This move follows comprehensive reconstitution of the NNPCL board, with Ahmadu Musa Kida as the new non-executive chairman.

NNPCL in a statement on Wednesday by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, also appreciated the dedication and contributions of the outgoing GCEO, Mele Kyari, and the former Board Members, noting that their selfless service to the nation will not go unnoticed.

“We extend our profound appreciation to the outgoing GCEO, Mr. Mele Kyari, and the former Board Members for their selfless and dedicated service to the Company and to the nation.

“Mr. Kyari’s leadership and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on NNPC Ltd., and we are sincerely grateful for his outstanding contributions.

“We wish him and all departing Board Members continued success and fulfilment in their future endeavours,” said the statement.

President Tinubu expects the new board to enhance NNPC’s operational efficiency and boost oil refining output significantly by 2027 and 2030.
