In a clear and reassuring statement, the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has addressed swirling rumours about his possible defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Over the last few hours, the governor revealed, “I have been inundated with calls regarding rumours of a possible defection.”

In a statement titled “No cause for alarm, I remain in PDP” shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, the governor quickly dispelled the speculation, affirming, “I want to assure the good people of Osun State and Nigerians at large; I remain a loyal member, and the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (@OfficialPDPNig) in Osun State.”

The governor underscored his commitment to governance, stating, “My focus remains on delivering good governance and fulfilling our 5-point agenda for Osun people.”

He thereby urged the public to “disregard the fake news and continue to support our mission for a better Osun State.”
