No Champions League means unacceptable season for Liverpool — Arne Slot

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has laid down a stark benchmark for success, declaring that failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League would render the campaign a outright failure.
In a candid assessment ahead of upcoming fixtures, Slot pulled no punches, “If we don’t have Champions League qualification, then it’s definitely not been an acceptable season.”
The Dutch tactician, who took the reins at Anfield last summer, emphasised the club’s elevated expectations despite inheriting a squad with transfer limitations.
He reflected on his arrival amid financial constraints, noting, “When I arrived here we could only sign Chiesa and that was after a Europa League season. I’m completely aware of that.”
The £12.5 million capture of Federico Chiesa from Juventus was the club’s sole major incoming that window, underscoring the tight budget Slot navigated following Jürgen Klopp’s Europa League exit the prior year.
Slot’s comments come as Liverpool sit sixth in the Premier League.
