The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has praised the Kwara state government for the construction of the tallest flagpole in West Africa, a 70-meter tall structure that represents national pride, unity, and cultural heritage.

NOA Director General Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, conveyed through the Deputy Director of Communication and Media, Paul Odenyi, highlighted its importance in fostering patriotism and showcasing Nigeria’s rich diversity.

Issa-Onilu remarked on X (formally Twitter) that the flagpole, in addition to its symbolic value, is expected to boost tourism, draw investment, and stimulate economic growth in Kwara, positioning the state as a significant cultural and economic hub.

“As the agency responsible for promoting national values and orientation, we appreciate the Kwara State Government’s efforts in creating a landmark that showcases our nation’s rich cultural heritage and promotes socioeconomic development”, the statement reads.

NOA reiterated its dedication to showcasing Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage globally.
