Nottingham Forest have dismissed Ange Postecoglou following a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at the City Ground, ending his tenure after only 39 days in charge.

This marks the shortest managerial stint in Premier League history.

Postecoglou, appointed on September 9, did not secure a single victory in eight matches across all competitions, recording two draws and six losses.

Forest managed just one point from five Premier League games under his leadership, leaving the club precariously placed 17th, just one point above the relegation zone.

In an official statement, the club said, “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment at this time.”

Forest now face the challenge of finding a new manager as they attempt to climb out of the relegation battle.
