The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has officially handed over 59 recently rescued kidnapping victims to the Kaduna State Government on Tuesday.
The event took place at the Office of the National Security Adviser, located in the Three Arms Zone in Abuja.
Ribadu explained that the successful rescue operation was a result of a collaborative effort between all security agencies, spearheaded by the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army based in Kaduna.
He highlighted that the operation was carried out in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to intensify efforts aimed at freeing kidnapping victims across the country.
In his remarks, Major General Gold Chibuisi, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, reaffirmed the strong collaboration between military and security forces in executing the presidential mandate to secure the release of those held captive.
Major General Garba Laka, the Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre, revealed that some of the victims had been held captive for up to four months.
